Tonight — MSR Presents:: Young Galaxy, Winter Gloves, and myself DJ DP!
Young Galaxy are Montreal veterans just spent last year touring with bands like Arcade Fire, Stars and Twin Sister. For their latest LP,Shapeshifting, they enlisted the help of producer Dan Lissvik who has also worked his magic on albums for Fever Ray and Bear In Heaven. Turns out David Bowie wasn’t available for support. Winter Gloves who are another insanely rad band from Montreal are supporting.

Apparently The Hold Steady got knocked up by the E Street Band and gave birth to these New Jersey thrash rockers. With their album The Monitor landing at a solid #10 on Pitchfork’s list of top 50 albums of 2010, these fellas are continuing to rock the piss out of crowds around the planet with their high energy live show. Said show will be tearing through Metronome in March so we’ll get to see what the hype is all about ourselves. Support is coming from Portland, Maine’s Brenda.
Another great week in Burlington for music. A special thanks to everyone who came out to Beat Vision on Wednesday night, the Parmaga CD release party at the BCA Center on Friday, and another great Record Club on a beautiful spring day on Saturday. Here are some pictures from the events:

Kurt Vile has been swirling around the blogs lately with his new album Smoke Ring For My Halo coming out tomorrow. Pitchfork just rated his album with a huge 8.4! We are fortunate enough to have him grace Winooski’s presence this Sunday, March 13th at the Monkey House thanks to MSR & Angioplasty Media!
